Add new view "Groups By Members" to the Domino Directory

:Domino Server / Directory
: directory, addressbook
Hynek Kobelka7940 - 03 2007 / (8)
Simply add a new categorised view to the Domino Directory, to display all groups by its members.
Additionally embedd this view into the Person-form in such a way that only the groups of the current person are shown. (Its about 10 minutes of work)  :-)
And if you want ...

Send mail to all users in an Organisational Unit

:Domino Server / Directory
: email, ou, organisation, organization
Stephen Bailey1802 - 08 2008 / (7)
I'm sure other admins out there would find this useful, especially if, like me, you have to manage a high number of OUs, or if your Organisation is based on location. (Simply, our users are spread around a number of countries, so we have a User/Country/Organization hierarchical structure. Actually, it's ...

Allow storage of Domino person document on an external directory and authenticate against it

:Domino Server / Directory
: directory indepence, external directory
Tinus Riyanto2825 - 06 2010 / (5)
Basically all (or some) of the information previously stored on Domino Directory via Person document form would be instead stored on an external directory (preferably LDAP). I am aware that there are informations that is exclusive to Domino like mail server and mail file. For these information if possible additional ...

Domino person record needs to contain the location (or replica ID) of the user's primary mail archive.

:Domino Server / Directory
: archive
Craig Wiseman24988 - 18 2009 / (5)
We need to think of a user's mail file and archive as connected facets of the user mail experience. Right now in most domino shops, the person record contains their mail file location, roaming profile database location, public key, sync'd password for sametime/inotes, even businesscard picture. One thing that's missing from the ...

Allow multiple addresses for group and mail-in database docs like person docs do

:Domino Server / Directory
: groups, alias, username, fields
David Hablewitz15116 - 20 2008 / (5)
A person can receive mail for multiple addresses by putting them in the Username field.  Groups and mail-in databases do not have this ability, so another group or mail-in database must be created for each possible address.  That's a nightmare when the company changes their internet email domain.  (like going from to ...

Total count of users in a group.

:Domino Server / Directory
: groups
Carlos Flores1106 - 13 2009 / (4)
This is more of a nice to have.  When opening a group with large amounts of users, it would be nice to have a total count of the users that are in that group.  Sometimes this is asked by management, or people want a total number.

Public/Private Key Pairs for Mail-In databases (create shareable private key)

:Domino Server / Directory
: mail-in private public key export share
Nathan Chandler1754 - 02 2010 / (4)
The Mail-in Database document has a public key field however there doesn't seem to be a way to use it that makes sense.
I'd like to be able to generate a new public key for that document along with a new, shareable private key which can be imported into other people's ...

Create view listing all active mail addresses on the server (main + aliases)

:Domino Server / Directory
: active mail
Mathieu Pape8090 - 22 2009 / (3)
Rather simple idea.
It would be easier to find a duplicate address, see if a new address request already exists, ....

Add cell phone to the telephone column in the Domino Directory

:Domino Server / Directory
: directory
Darren Duke3521 - 14 2009 / (3)
office and home both appear, how about cell too?

Create Domino Internet Application Server w/ OAuth/OpenID/FacebookConnect Support

:Domino Server / Directory
: domino, oauth, openid, facebook, authentication
Sean Burgess6178 - 23 2011 / (3)
To make Domino a real "Internet Application Server", it would be nice for IBM to offer a Domino Internet Application Server that is built to use either OAuth, OpenID, or Facebook Connect as an authentication mechanism.  The server would be priced similar to the way the Utility server is priced, ...

Add email or event notifications to Program Documents

:Domino Server / Directory
: programdocuments, program, notification, maintenance, events
David Killingsworth4000 - 13 2008 / (3)
Often times, I will spend hours searching through the logs to see what time my program documents finished running.
We have the standard and typical Fixup and Compact program documents running.
It would be great if there was an extra field in the program document for the Domino ...

Improvements for the Diretory Catalog (configuration form)

:Domino Server / Directory
: directory, catalog, configuration, fields
Martin Vogel2501 - 29 2008 / (3)
When you setup the directory catalog you have to know about the exact names of the address books and fields which are used for the configuration. Yes, you can copy&paste the needed informations from the open dialog (for address books) or the properties dialog (for documents / fields) but it ...

Make Domino LDAP schema compatible with SAMBA

:Domino Server / Directory
: ldap, linux
Hynek Kobelka7940 - 03 2007 / (2)
The LDAP schema of the Domino Directory can be extended by adding additional fields and subforms to the design. It could be modified in such a way that it would contain all the necessary fields which are required for SAMBA  to use it directly as its LDAP directory.  Many SMBs ...

Enable Editor Access Security on Auto Populate Fields on Group Documents

:Domino Server / Directory
: auto-populate, groups, directory
Matt Cook501 - 05 2009 / (2)
Currently authors (owners and administrators) for a group document can configure auto populate settings.  In an environment where group ownership is delegated to the business owners, it isn't desired to have them to be able to enable the auto-populate feature for the group.  If auto-populate is enabled and no home ...

Break up server document / configuration into functional components

:Domino Server / Directory
: configuration documents, server documents
Mark Demicoli10736 - 23 2010 / (2)
The notes client struggles to render the complexity of the server document and configuration document.  Poor old clunky :)  It's not a size issue (my server docs are about 5k).  This coud be easily overcome without breaking the rendering engine by using separate forms for separate tabs rather than lumping ...

When Deny mail to Groups, add exception

:Domino Server / Directory
: router, groups, directory, mail, inbound, control
Jamie Colpean1010 - 21 2008 / (1)

Currently you can either allow or not allow inbound email to Groups in the Domino Directory.  I would like to disable inbound mail to all groups except for an exception list.

Comments within Admin settings

:Domino Server / Directory
: directory, admin
Tom McArthur1246 - 10 2008 / (1)
I'd like to see comments available within many Admin settings. For example, this list of IPs that can send SMTP through my system probably has outdated devices, but it's hard to tell without comments.

Compare that to something ...

Directory Catalog improvements (type-ahead)

:Domino Server / Directory
: directory, catalog, dircat, type-ahead
Richard Doone824 - 03 2008 / (1)
The Lightweight Directory catalog seems not to have changed very much since 5.0.  We've recently implemented a lightweight directory catalog so users are using a local mail file replica, but have access to their type-ahead without locally replicating the much heavier NAB.  Unfortunately, it still only gives the option of ...

Enhance Mail Rules Dialog

:Domino Server / Directory
: directory, mailrules
Ulrich Krause5701 - 01 2008 / (1)
The dialog for mail rules is a simple GUI for administrators to create mail rules. The mail rule itself is stored as a formula in the $FilterFormula in the MailRule form.
In fact the Rusles dialog and the script library "Rules" is used only for creating or editing mail rules. ...

Enhance Auto-Populate-Group functionality

:Domino Server / Directory
: nab, domino directory, group, ldap
Ulrich Krause5701 - 24 2009 / (1)
I would like to see the auto populate group feature in the Domino Directory to be enhanced so that it is not limited to "HomeServer" only, but you can use "freehand" LDAP queries to populate a group according to the field values in a person record ( i.e. (&(ObjectClass=dominoperson)(location=Paris)) ).
This ...
