As internal data security becomes more and more of a concern, allowing end-users access to server configuration information poses more of a risk than when the Domino Directory was first envisioned and implemented.
While we can make customizations to the Domino Directory to accommodate our needs, the product "off the shelf" should have a configuration option that will let system administrators restrict access to server configuration info (i.e. all of the "server\" and "policy\" views) in the Domino Directory.

I clicked on "no opinion", although I do have an opinion: Don't lead Domino administrators buy into the concept of security by obscurity. So, why I'm not exactly against hiding stuff, users shouldn't need to know about anyway, I can't say, that I'd promote this as important.

And btw: I wonder, how much of that you can actually do already since Domino 6 by setting up an extended ACL ...

Harkpabst, Extended ACL causes a lot more problems than it solves. I'd really like to see all the configuration stuff pulled into a separate NSF so it could be more easily controlled.

I clicked on "no opinion", because I use the extended ACL since R6 for me and many customer without problems. BUT the extended ECL isn´t easy. You need to do a good plan bevor you kick it in place.
